do something that is out of your comfort zone, or if it’s something you have
not done before, then you are experiencing a feeling of challenge. For our
classes, reading of reading books could present a challenge for some
children; so could a ballet exam or Karate grading or when they had to plan
and present their speech. It may make things less challenging if you break
the tasks into smaller parts or sections, so positive feelings increase.

start to read, you need to remember all your letter sounds, as well as
putting sounds together (blending) and breaking up each word (segmenting) to
work out unknown words. Or, if you kick your soccer ball into the road, what
must you think about before you run into the road to fetch it?
